About

Ask any member of Intrastasis, and you will get a completely different answer for what the name means. Created by Jacob and Grace Swindell, the original idea to start an alternative rock act came to Jacob as the couple was flying home to Nashville from their first holiday with Grace’s family.

The chance to test their musical chemistry came when Grace was tasked with completing her senior project. The chosen assignment? A small, intimate concert on her college campus, co-led by the duo and joined by the likes of guitarist Aidan Watson, bassist Zach Cook, and drummer Winston Folsom. The result? An absolute success, officially green-lighting the project in the Swindell’s eyes.

The ideas began rolling in a few months later, following their wedding, after which Jacob and Grace invited Aidan, Zach, and Winston to help bring the songs to life. It wasn’t long after until the name finally became clear, and thus, Intrastasis was born. The group’s debut single “How It Ends” released on April 17, 2026, quickly being followed up by “Cover Me” on May 1, 2026, kicking off a summer of multiple releases leading up to their self titled EP.

MEET THE BAND

A rocker from birth and a Nashville native, Jacob Swindell grew up surrounded by loud music, particularly featuring heavy guitars and powerful lyrics. Initially in school for computer science, Jacob transferred to Middle Tennessee State University in 2019 to pursue audio production, doubling down on his dream to do his own music and enabling him to do the technical work for his own songs. His first outing as half of the rock duo Face the Giant taught him many lessons about the creation process, enabling him to become a well-rounded producer on future projects. Following a brief stint in IT, Jacob finally found his way into live production, where he first met his wife Grace. After their wedding, the two went on to form Intrastasis, where Jacob’s rock roots got to take hold once again. Jacob acts as the producer and principal songwriter for the band, along with performing lead and rap vocals and rhythm guitar. His largest inspiration has long been Linkin Park, and other influences include twenty one pilots, Mammoth, Alter Bridge, Ashes Remain, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Jon Bellion.

For as long as she can remember Grace Swindell felt a pull to the stage, a desire to pursue rock. She started classical vocal training in 8th grade, continuing this path until college where she began working towards rock. After many years, she has finally begun to reach this goal with “How It Ends”. Although she is excited for this new chapter of her musical career, she will always appreciate her roots in the classical world. She has also worked in many other areas of music. She was in the songwriting program when she started at Lipscomb University but soon realized it was not her strength. Part way through her sophomore year, she joined the Music Industry Studies program and learned the intricacies of the music business. But it wasn’t until the start of her junior year that Grace found her second passion, stage lighting. She began working as a freelancer, where she met her husband Jacob Swindell. The two soon realized that they shared a love not only for live production but for music and started forming what is now Intrastasis. Grace acts as the business manager, along with performing lead vocals. Her largest inspirations include Linkin Park, Bon Jovi, Skillet, and anything flamenco.

Aidan Watson is a producer and multi instrumentalist based in Nashville, TN. Born and raised in Northern California, his earliest musical memories are singing along to the car radio with his mom on the way to school. Aidan grew up around music, but hadn’t dedicated himself to it until early 2020. From there, he dove headfirst into the world of music, primarily playing guitar and bass. He graduated from Lipscomb University with a B.M. in Commercial Music (Production) in the Spring of 2026. He is working as a gun-for-hire guitarist and bassist, playing for several artists in the Nashville area. His musical inspirations include Half•Alive, Mumford and Sons, Switchfoot, and Jon Guerra.

Zach Cook is a producer, songwriter, artist, and multi instrumentalist. He’s loved music all his life and at the age of 10 years old began playing the guitar. From there he started writing songs, eventually learning to record them. After that there was really nothing else he’d rather do. He graduated from Lipscomb University in 2025 with a degree in Music Production. Since then he’s been working as a producer as well as pursuing his own artistry. He enjoys playing in every genre, never keeping it the same for too long. In terms of writing his own music, his general inspirations right now are Bon Iver, Billie Eilish, and girl in red.

Although he has played for countless artists, playing a variety of genres, rock has always been his biggest passion. As a member of fellow Nashville rock band “Pomegranate”, he is excited to take on new stages with the same passion in mind. He studied Music Production at Lipscomb University until dropping out after the Spring of 2026. He is working full time as drum set player/producer. A hired gun, playing drums for artists both live and in the studio, while also producing for local artists. His biggest inspirations include COIN, The 1975, The Band CAMINO, mercury, and Pinegrove.
